Commissioned by the Caransa Group (an Amsterdam-based family business with over 65 years of experience in real estate development), J.M. van Delft & zn. of Drunen is contributing to the redevelopment of the Scheldeplein, where Knijn Bowling and Albert Heijn, among others, are located. Based on a design by DOK Architects, the facade builder brought the current facade back to its original state with insulated steel facades. It also collaborated on the new roof structure.
Brand-new apartments have been created in the new roof structure, for which the facade builder was also able to supply and install all the steel interior frames. The beautiful glass outer façade, executed in slim steel profiles, gives the building a sleek and modern look and together with the profile steel lantern placed on the tower, the building has really become an eye-catcher in the Scheldebuurt. Customization and passion for the craft helped to restore the monumental building to its former glory. Project manager Danny van Spaandonk looks back on this project with great pride: "It was a sizeable project with a long lead time, but I look back with great pride on what we were able to do here. It is always very pleasant working with the Caransa Group and our collaboration goes back many years." Currently, the final points are still being worked hard on, after which the project will be delivered by the end of the year.
