Kingspan Light + Air Netherlands recognized as social employer by obtaining PSO certificate

Kingspan Light + Air has achieved Stage 2 on the Social Enterprise Performance Ladder (PSO). The label was awarded by Alderman Gijs van Heeswijk of the municipality Maashorst. Also present were Willem van den Brand, advisor companies Maashorst) and Guus Weitzel (IBN).

The independent assessment by a certifying institution shows that Kingspan Light + Air provides high-quality employment for people with a distance to the labor market and preferably cooperates with organizations that also do or strive to do the same. In this way, Kingspan Light + Air Netherlands makes an above-average contribution in the field of social entrepreneurship in a sustainable way.

"With this hallmark we show that we are also building social employment. We do this through intensive cooperation at our production sites with IBN - a job development company that works hard to help people who cannot find work on their own - and by being an accredited training company," says Bastin Mewis, managing director of Kingspan Light + Air Netherlands bv.

PSO encourages inclusive employment in the Netherlands

Within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), more and more organizations and governments attach importance to creating (more) employment opportunities for people with a distance to the labor market. This component within CSR is called social entrepreneurship or social enterprise.

The Prestatieladder Socialer Ondernemen (PSO) is the measuring instrument and hallmark of TNO that objectively measures and visualizes the degree of social entrepreneurship. In close cooperation with the market, TNO and PSO-Nederland have developed and further developed PSO according to the latest scientific insights since 2010. The PSO has now become the national standard for social entrepreneurship.

Levels of the PSO Performance Ladder.

The PSO hallmark has five performance levels: Aspirant status, Basic step, Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3. Organizations that make an above-average social contribution are placed on a step of the PSO. With the obtained PSO Trede 2 certificate, Kingspan Light + Air Netherlands may count itself among the top 22.5% social employers in the Netherlands. The certificate is valid for 2 years, after which another independent audit will follow to see what growth has been achieved as a social employer.
