Platform on new construction, renovation, restoration and transformation
In Amsterdam, work is underway on IKC Beach Island, a new integral child center within the Innovation Partnership School Buildings (IPS) of the municipality of Amsterdam. Within this project, Vront® the complete precast HSB façade elements, including the integration of the Wood-Alu-Frame® from WEBO.
The project was developed from the modular construction system The Elementary School, in which several established market players are working together. This system makes school buildings demountable and circular. For the outer shell, this requires precise coordination between engineering, production and assembly. Vront® within this partnership, commissioned by Slokker Amsterdam, is responsible for the entire process of engineering and work preparation up to and including the production and mounting of the façade elements.
The combination of fixed beech sizes and extra high facade elements requires precise engineering, coordinated transport and controlled assembly. Prefabricating these elements and delivering them as a whole creates an efficient construction process with less on-site coordination.
Within IKC Beach Island, the prefabricated facade elements next to wooden cladding provided with the Wood-Alu-Frame® from WEBO. Using wood on the inside and aluminum on the outside creates a low-maintenance solution with no exterior painting cycle.
In addition, the elements are elaborated with specific connection details for such things as steel brackets running through the façade elements. This detailing guarantees the waterproofing, airtightness and practicability of the system.
The result is one cohesive facade package instead of separate suppliers and additional coordination on the construction site.
