From sketch to realization: smart infrastructure in Haps 

At the business park in Haps, Van de Beeten BV has once again proven to be the partner of choice for large-scale logistics projects. In cooperation with Heembouw, the infrastructure expert from Veghel has realized a brand new distribution center for Nabuurs. Peter Verbakel, Director of Infra at Van de Beeten BV talks about the success of DC Nabuurs II.

After completing the first phase, in which Van de Beeten BV and Heembouw built another distribution center for Nabuurs, the choice for a sequel was quickly made. The companies got to work on phase 2: a brand new logistics center 100 meters away from phase 1. "We have been working with Heembouw for many years," says Verbakel. "That long-term partnership is essential, because it ensures smooth cooperation. And the more efficient we can work, the happier we are." 

Smart logistics in a prime location 

The new distribution center, extending over 28,500 square meters, is strategically located near the A73. This modern DC, equipped with multiple loading docks, was designed to facilitate the growing logistics needs of tenant Footlocker. Van de Beeten BV played an important role in realizing that goal. "We carried out the entire civil engineering part," says Verbakel. "From 1,600 meters of sewerage to an infiltration system of 1,250 cubic meters and 14,000 square meters of paving." This extensive work ensures a stable infrastructure. And that is indispensable for the successful operation of the future-proof distribution center. 

Challenges and areas of expertise 

Every construction project has its challenges. And DC Nabuurs II was no exception. The tight construction time and the weather were major factors affecting progress. Yet Van de Beeten BV managed to turn these challenges into opportunities through thorough preparation and smart project management. "Good preparation is crucial," says Verbakel. "That's why our engineering firm started by converting the sketch design into an execution design. That way we kept a grip on the entire process." By working with its own people and equipment at all times, Van de Beeten BV remains flexible and can switch quickly when needed. "We have everything in-house and that gives us the control we need to make every project a success." 

New projects in the starting blocks 

After the flawless completion of the distribution center in Haps, Van de Beeten BV is immediately looking ahead to new projects. The cooperation with Heembouw remains strong and new joint challenges are already planned. With a proven approach and a keen eye for quality, Van de Beeten BV is ready to make a difference in those projects as well. The future looks promising.
