Heutink, a total supplier of educational materials and furniture for education, is merging four business locations into a new headquarters. This will be built at a high-profile location on the 't Lochter business park in Nijverdal. This new building enables a more efficient way of working and further growth.
Heutink wants to advise, inspire and inform everyone involved in primary or secondary education, childcare and care and welfare. The company has been doing this from Rijssen since 1975. In this municipality, the company now occupied four buildings and further expansion was no longer possible. It was therefore decided to move to Nijverdal. This is where the new headquarters, which will consist of an experience center, offices and the distribution center, will be located. Aannemingsmaatschappij Hegeman from Nijverdal is responsible for the site work and the structural, electrical and mechanical engineering work.
The new building is right on the N35, making it easy for passersby to see. They see a facade consisting of a concrete plinth, a wooden and an aluminum part. The wooden part contains the experience center, which consists of wooden blocks. These represent the growth of the child, as Heutink wants to get the best out of every child. Here we also find the foyer with the central stairwell and various meeting areas. The offices are located in a quieter part of the building, in the aluminum section surrounding the experience center. The distribution center will also feature an aluminum facade, but it will have a more subdued champagne color.
"In the prominent front facade there is the biggest challenge. There, precast concrete, wooden frames and aluminum curtain walls will be used, while composite canopies will also be installed. These will be covered with sedum," says Tom Wilmink, who is providing project supervision at Aannemingsmaatschappij Hegeman.
Heutink is committed to sustainability. That is why the building will be delivered energy-neutral. Wilmink: "To achieve this, use has been made of heat pumps in combination with wells, climate ceilings and a considerable amount of solar panels, among other things." The cooperation between Heutink, managing director BBD and the subcontractors is going well, according to him. "However, we do have to deal with longer delivery times because of corona issues. That sometimes makes it more difficult to plan."
Large windows for new Heutink building
Polybouw Aluminium B.V. was commissioned by Aannemingsbedrijf Hegeman to supply and assemble the aluminum facade elements and glazing for the office and hall of Heutink Primair Onderwijs. The project contains very large windows. Reitsema & partners architects pushed the boundaries in terms of dimensions. Together with glass manufacturer Pilkington Benelux, Polybouw Aluminium was able to deliver the right combination.
Polybouw started work in the 2021 construction season and completed the work at the end of October. The project went perfectly according to plan. The cooperation with the client Hegeman was also satisfactory, agrees Jarno Marsman, superintendent at Hegeman. There was pleasant communication between him and assembly supervisor at Polybouw Arjan Zomer. Polybouw Aluminium could rely on a good completion of the project.
