"We were already contacted by Heijmans at the end of 2017 to get involved in the preliminary stage of this project. We divided the work by stairwell and converted the preliminary plans for each section into a working drawing. This allowed us to significantly reduce the preparation period and all technical conflicts were filtered out in advance," says director Martijn Foppen. "This was our last new construction project that still used a gas installation. After all, the most recent construction projects are all gasless, as the regulations also require."
Foppen Installatie Techniek is based in Amersfoort and focuses primarily on plumbing work for new construction and renovation, for both non-residential construction and the rather luxurious residential construction. The specialist is primarily active with apartments, although the firm is also contacted by contractors for ground-level homes. "In general, this was an everyday project, but the rainwater drainage did present us with a challenge. Since no rainwater connection from the municipality was planned, that had to be provided on the site itself. We therefore connected interest roofs with rainwater infiltration, which were installed by the firms van Ginkel and Odijk-Zwanenburg respectively. This created a working solution, which was only possible because of good cooperation between all parties," Foppen explains. "We were working on this project for some 14 months. Throughout the entire project we worked closely with the people from Heijmans. Meanwhile, we have already started a new project on behalf of this main contractor. After all, we are providing water, sewerage and plumbing installations for 150 apartments in Zuiderhaven in Zutphen."
