The Damwand in Huizen is a multifunctional community center. A nice place to meet, a center for people with incipient dementia and the new home of the local table tennis club and the GGD youth and family. The special, colorful facade enhances the corresponding look. Corine Schoonderbeek, sales manager at LJ Solutions, talks about the facade and the pleasant cooperation during the construction of the center.
"The Dam Wall was a challenging and, above all, tremendously fun project," Schoonderbeek said. "This community center is a place where everyone is welcome and where people come first. We are happy to work on that." Architect Gertjan Eekel was already familiar with LJ Solutions' cladding. "We knew each other from a trade show, but sometimes it takes a while before a project comes along in which you can actually work together." In Huizen, Eekel chose an eye-catching use of Neolife cladding and thus a challenging implementation. "Nice! He decided to divide the facade into different color boxes. A beautiful project, in which we worked and consulted closely with the executing party. Neolife, our French supplier, also looked at the installation options and thought along in terms of implementation and advice."
The architect chose the cladding Cover 14 and 30 in no less than five different colors, and the result is impressive! "The Cover 30 in the color Ocean, a beautiful blue-gray shade, is mounted horizontally. The whole is playfully interrupted by square areas of the Cover 14, in the colors Sun, Heat, Earth and Night. Together with the bright yellow doors, the outside connects beautifully with the inside: a colorful and inviting whole."
Schoonderbeek elaborates on this striking project. "The cladding was supplied by Pontmeyer, Heijmans Huizen assembled it. Heijmans is a fine party to work with nationwide, where, as with us - and with this community center - people come first. We had frequent contact with Heijmans and Gertjan Eekel before and during the project to make sure everything ran smoothly." As with all of LJ Solutions' projects, Schoonderbeek also visited the site in Huizen. "During the work we keep an eye on whether the products are mounted properly, paying attention to the facade ventilation and the operation of the facade panels. We work a lot with regular partners, but also like to keep a finger on the pulse ourselves. After all, you have to do it together!" she emphasizes.
