Tough, transparent and modern. These are terms that describe the new accommodation of the Koedood family business in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. The design is a combination of historical influence, craft, love for the maritime and a 21st century office. A fusion of diligent labor, craftsmanship, technology and pride!
That starts, as you approach the building, at the "shop window. Upon entering, the maritime, technical atmosphere is reinforced. You can not only glimpse into the showroom, but also into the warehouse behind it where over 50 to 60 motorcycles are waiting for a new owner. The transparent entrance hall over two floors connects the sales area with the second floor. This is where the various work and meeting areas are housed. Large, green walls guide visitors upstairs and provide a natural, soft counterpart to the austere architec-ture.

The building has, on the first floor, a facade with deep, vertical slats that act as sunshades. The slats are partially perforated to subtly provide the building with spray ventilation. These provide depth and shade and give the building a different appearance each time during the day. In the evening, the rigid structure is further emphasized by the illuminated windows. The clients' predilection for the architecture of Mies van der Rohe is thereby further exhibited.
In addition to the curved glass, steel and Trimo façade, the interior uses a lot of greenery to create a pleasant working environment. The Dejo gratings under the overhangs flow seamlessly into the ceiling of the engine sales area. This applies to all the materials throughout the building. They flow together seamlessly due to the above-average attention to technical details. This mate-rialization and dimensionality characterize this building in its appearance.
