Due to the enormous labor shortage in construction, it is no longer the price of materials that is decisive, but the savings in labor. Those who build prefabricated buildings can also build significantly faster, under the best labor and climate conditions. This increases both quality and safety, while minimizing failure costs. “By also including air sealing and driving rain sealing already in the prefab construction process, even more speed can be achieved,” knows Ruud Robbe, Sales Manager High-rise at Celdex. “Thanks to our Seal4Prefab sealing system with ‘dry’ sealing products, contractors can easily meet requirements such as BENG, Zero-Meter, Wkb and BREEAM-NL.”
During the PREFAB trade fair in Den Bosch, Celdex will take interested parties through the extensive possibilities of prefab sealing with various products and the Seal4Prefab sealing system. “In our 35 m2 stand, three mock-ups will be built, so visitors can see, feel and experience the most common precast building situations as well as our solutions,” Robbe said.

With Seal4Prefab, construction stakeholders have all the essential building blocks to achieve and demonstrate the desired air sealing and driving rain sealing, Robbe emphasizes. “We developed Seal4Prefab in response to the challenges and conditions in high-rise projects. The sealing system includes air sealing on the inside, insulating middle sealing and driving rain sealing on the outside. A great development, for example, is our Pre-Seal M foam tape, which was specially developed for scaffold-free construction with precast concrete sandwich and HSB elements. The foam tape accommodates tolerances of 5 to 35 mm and meets the highest airtightness requirements.”
Seal4Prefab covers all steps from detailing, consulting, development, production, supervision and quality assurance. “In addition, the system provides rapid application and significant improvement in a building's energy performance, air and impact rainproofing and acoustic insulation,” Robbe said.
Recently, Seal4Prefab was applied in the projects The Ensemble and Crossroads in Amsterdam and Grote Beer in Rotterdam. Other great reference projects are Clubhouse Boompjes in Rotterdam, Wonderwoods in Utrecht and educational and cultural complex Amare in The Hague. Curious what Seal4Prefab can do for your project?
