Natural wood composite: also maintenance-free at the coast

Translating an architect's vision into a makeable design. It is typical of the method of LJ Solutions, which goes very far in the cooperation and service. Similarly for the sustainable cladding of the new residential care complex Ambla on Ameland. The maintenance-free Neolife natural wood composite lends itself perfectly to coastal applications and is insensitive to the salty sea air.

19 The Atelier Architects was already familiar with the positive characteristics of Neolife and thus contacted LJ Solutions for Ambla on Ameland. "We have a lot of contact with architects and specifiers," says Corine Schoonderbeek of LJ Solutions. "It typifies our way of working. We serve our clients and try to connect at the earliest possible stage for maximum efficiency and a perfect-looking end result for years to come. Because whoever chooses Neolife, chooses a circular and maintenance-free facade."

Salts and minerals

For this project, LJ Solutions sought collaboration with both the architect and construction group Dijkstra Draisma. "Already in the preliminary phase we worked out the Neolife facade in detail and discussed in detail how the facade could be assembled. Because that is also where our strength lies. We like to be involved from design to assembly and provide a practical elaboration and technical description. Once again, this led to flawless assembly and a beautiful end result."

Ambla's facades feature Neolife type Cover 6 in Sun color and are interspersed with brickwork. "It gives a nice contrast," Schoonderbeek believes. An additional advantage of Neolife is also that it has a basic fire class B, which she says is quite exceptional for a wood composite. "It is due to the salts and minerals that are added to the production process."

Upcyclable

Neolife is maintenance-free, colorfast and easily assembled, Schoonderbeek summarizes. "And the wood composite is upcyclable. After 50 years you can remove the panels from the facade and we bring them back to the factory. Here the panels are processed into raw material for new Neolife panels. We can repeat the latter up to three times. That too is highly exceptional for a wood composite and underlines the sustainable nature of Neolife."
