Solarlux provides weatherproof balconies to a modern residential tower in Schiedam. The former office building has been transformed into a luxury residential tower: Terras aan de Schie. The building consists of 130 apartments, with balconies equipped with the revolving sliding system of Solarlux.
"We applied our swing sliding systems in the Terrace on the Schie building. This is a single balcony glazing system that blocks out noise, wind and cold," says André Jansen. He is account manager projects at Solarlux and is engaged in advising architects and contractors to find together the most appropriate solution for the facades of a building project.
Terras aan de Schie is located close to the Schiedam train station. Super convenient, but such a location is also noise sensitive. "We are dealing with housing shortages. As a result, we now also build in noise-sensitive locations, such as near the train station or an airport. With our revolving door system, residents are not bothered by the noise at these locations. And their terrace is ventilated at the same time," says Jansen. "This gives them shelter and always fresh air on their balconies."
"We have integrated a modular system with the pivot sliders. This is our new balcony glazing line: Proline T. This new line is a lot narrower than before," says Jansen. As a result, the glasses are lighter in design, allowing Solarlux to make larger elements. As a result, the balcony protection is wider and higher than those in the old series. "This balcony glazing gives a luxurious look to the apartments and provides real comfort."
"I have been working at Solarlux for 25 years. We always deliver the best quality," adds Jansen. "We work with a good, experienced and professional team. Contractors always know how to find us because we deliver custom work: Solarlux continues where other providers stop and we supervise the entire construction process from A to Z. We are proud of that."
