As a regular co-maker of ERA Contour, Van den Pol Elektrotechniek realized all the E-installations in both Porcelain Tower and the town houses of Porcelain Court.
The common areas in the apartment complex feature energy-efficient LED lighting with smart sensors. "The lighting is on 10% by default and only switches to full strength when there is movement," says Bob Oostendorp, project manager at Van den Pol. "The PV installation with 42 kWp also contributes to the sustainable character of Porcelain Tower."
Van den Pol made preparations for the construction of dynamic charging facilities. "Residents or the VvE can actually have charging stations installed at a later stage. This is then done by our Service and Maintenance Department, which specializes in these facilities. A dynamic charging system prevents overloading the electricity network and ensures that the available power is distributed among several cars."
Worth mentioning is the fire alarm system for the garage. Ordinary smoke detectors regularly trigger unwanted alarms in garages, for example because of moisture development. "Therefore, thermal detection was used here with LIST sensor cabling. These cables contain temperature sensors that accurately indicate where fire is starting."
ERA Contour and Van den Pol have been working together for many years. "Important in our co-makership is the continuous striving for optimization," Oostendorp states. "During regular joint sessions, the central question each time is how we can work better, faster and smarter." As an example, he cites wireless lighting switches that are already commonplace in utility construction. "In residential construction, too, this provides enormous savings. We deliver these switches pre-programmed. That saves time and manpower. Routing slots and drilling recessed boxes is no longer necessary. Wireless switches are already being used, for example, at SAWA, a wooden residential complex that we are realizing together with ERA Contour in Rotterdam."
