The Dulon College is renovating its school building on the Reehorsterweg in Ede. Project construction company Probouw was commissioned by construction company Rots Bouw to collaborate on this special project. "Projects like this are exactly what we are strong in," says co-owner Koos van Loon. To make this major project sustainable, the construction of the old building is being reused as the basis for the new building. This construction method saves raw materials and logistical movements, which requires a lot of attention in the development process and planning. A great challenge!
Probouw specializes in dry interior finishing of, for example, office buildings, care centers, schools and retail construction, often commissioned by (main) contractors. Probouw supplies and assembles ceilings, walls, full glass walls, window frames and paneling. "If a building is wind and watertight, we can take care of the dry finishing. What makes us unique is that we realize the work with a committed and motivated close-knit team. We really do that with passion and dedication and also with a lot of fun," Van Loon says. Co-owner Mark Roelofswaard: "It was a great experience to be involved in the development process with the project team of Rots Bouw. Giving the preliminary process a lot of attention pays off in the work preparation and execution." Van Loon ensured that communication between the various parties was well coordinated so that the work went as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Special choices were made in terms of materials, with products that are not very common. For example, ceilings were made of slats made of wood and felt, and a special acoustic covering of the steel atrium beams was installed. "It was special to be able to make. We can really look back on it with pride."
"The students will have a wonderful school. The building is well set up for the classes they will have there: everything is nicely under one roof. That was very well thought out," Roelofswaard says. All in all, the renovation of the school was a big project. Van Loon explains, "In the preliminary process, the project received a lot of attention. This ensured a good working atmosphere and a good result for the end user. The whole work exudes high quality."
