M.C. Kersten specializes in the design and development of high-quality steel and glass structures, staircases, railings, window frames, doors, and even solar carports and works of art. A notable project reference is the historic canal-side building on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam, where M.C. Kersten engineered, manufactured, and installed various steel facades with glass and straight steel staircases. “We were involved in the detailing process from an early stage and worked with the architects and the client to develop a feasible and manufacturable design,” says Kersten. “This also took fire codes into account, for example.”
“Our order book is well-stocked with projects in the planning stages,” Kersten summarizes. “We get involved early on and actively contribute ideas as a sounding board for architects, contractors, and project developers. For example, we are currently designing several projects in the Bajeskwartier. And in other projects as well, we are brought on board at an early stage, so that decisions regarding details and feasibility are clear in advance and the execution proceeds more quickly and with less risk.”
