The aluminum profiles that play an important role in the architectural appearance of the renovated facades are supplied by Compri Aluminum of Medemblik. "We also supply standard products if required," says director-owner Nick Lenders. "But when you see what has been achieved in Overvecht with mutual cooperation, prefabricated engineering and customization, I say: this is the future of construction; this is not going to stop."
Compri Aluminium mainly supplies water layers and negge cladding for building assembly, in addition to supplementary typesetting and sheet metal work. "We do that with the West Frisian 'triangle' Prefab Building Systems, where the prefab elements are pre-assembled, and Schipper Kozijnen, our direct customer for the profiles. Everything revolves around delivery at the right time and in the right packaging. This is all designed to our liking, in the context of minimum time loss and minimum packaging quantities. The various trains on the construction site have to keep running, and in that respect, many improvements have been made to this project in recent years."
Also, the extrusion profiles produced and powder-coated at Compri Aluminum have only deepened in the ongoing phases - an architectural desire to emphasize the original grid of the Intervam flats. Says Lenders, "The profiles were changed several times during the engineering phases. Extrusion is really a piece of art. When you drive past the work, you see the result." For all parties involved, the voluminous apartment renovation is a particularly important, long-term project. "We already know what we have to deliver all year for Overvecht, within a team that knows how to find each other easily - on the construction site and at management level. Actually, that's how you want to work with every client."
