The extension of the installer
The measurement and control cabling for UVA's new library is being provided by Climate Control Systems (CCS). Right from the start of this challenging project, one of the owners of CCS has been involved as project manager of measurement and control technology. In this capacity, several projects in the field of measurement and control technology have already been realized for BINX Smartility. In this way CCS is an extension of the installer and part of the construction team.
Since 2021, project manager Martin Koldenhof has already been actively preparing the measurement and control installations. Within the construction team, the engineering of the complete installation (E+W) has been realized. The size and scope of the work have been mapped and discussed. Together with the mechanical engineers of client BINX, the project was shaped and processed into a final design.
From the advisory role that CCS also assumes in other projects, advice is given on the choices to be made regarding technology and technical solutions. Together with the project team, optimization of the processes is sought.
The measurement and control cabling of the project is being realized under the direction of Stef Asbai. The scope of work consists of cabling about five control cabinets and 138 room controls. A team of experienced technicians is carrying out this work. The room controls consist of a mix of local controls combined with various KNX components. In total, this involves some 23,000 meters of control and power cabling, 150 meters of cable tray and 1,000 meters of conduit. "We expect to start work in the fourth quarter of this year. Before that, we are already doing the engineering and work preparation. Our project managers know exactly how the project is developing and advise the construction team. For each project, we can jointly deploy the expertise present within CCS," says sales manager Jan Korbijn.
Due to strong growth of four more reputable companies in measurement and control technology in the Amsterdam region, Climate Control Systems BV was created. They are ABS Klimaattechniek (Stef Asbai), M. Koldenhof advies & consultancy (Martin Koldenhof), Van der Vliet meet- en regeltechniek (Raymond van der Vliet) and MenRtech (Jan Korbijn). Korbijn: "In January 2022, the first branch of CCS started. From this branch we realize measurement and control engineering projects in the region. We give technical advice and do procurement guidance, project engineering, project management, commissioning, cabling and service and maintenance. Within CCS the knowledge is present about the mechanical HVAC installations, to be able to support and advise the customer in every situation."
