With the transformation of office buildings into apartments, the big cities in our country are rapidly trying to realize affordable housing for students, starters and young families. That Breman is the right partner for this, the total installer proves, for example, in Almere, where an office building will accommodate 87 sustainable and comfortable apartments starting next summer. In order to realize the apartments as quickly as possible, it was decided to use as many prefab solutions as possible. Also with regard to the installation techniques.
The Municipality of Almere has the ambition to develop the current office area on the Louis Armstrongweg into a varied area with housing, offices, facilities and greenery. The former office building at number 36 is also part of this plan and has been completely gutted to make a new layout and function possible. Commissioned by developer Veldboom Vastgoed and in a construction team with Bouwbedrijf Wijlens BV, Breman Kampen is responsible for all the installation techniques in the building. From sewerage to solar panels and from advice and design to assembly and commissioning.
Work started for Breman Kampen at the beginning of February and the project must be delivered before the construction period is over. "To keep the pace of installation high, we work with tight schedules, block plans and prefab installation walls," explains Jeroen Thalen, business manager at Breman Kampen. "Among other things, the kitchen walls, toilet walls and washbasin walls are delivered to us as part-products and provided with installation-technical components by our own prefab department. For electrical engineering, we also work with "spiders" or custom-made "electrical trees" in which the center boxes, cords and connectors are already prepared. This allows us to connect all the electrical technology on site plug-and-play and create a working installation immediately."
Thanks to far-reaching prefabrication, Breman Kampen can install four to five apartments per day, says Thalen. Without compromising on quality, sustainability or comfort. "All homes will be connected to Almere's district heating network. Underfloor heating has been chosen as the delivery system, while a heat exchanger system energetically provides for the ventilation needs. PV panels provide the energy needs of the apartments and complete the sustainable picture."
