Contemporary, straightforward and reliable new profile system

There is a market for windows and doors of modern design, straightforward design and no frills. GEALAN knows the market like no other and has responded appropriately to this market demand. The result is the newly developed GEALAN-LINEAR® profile system. We speak to country manager Wim Plochaet about this new plastic profile system. "LINEAR looks narrow and allows a lot of light into a room. The design of this 74 mm window appeals enormously and it is not expected to take long for architects, manufacturers, building owners and renovators to embrace this product. Not only because the profile is technically perfect and easy to work with, but especially because the end customer demands window frames with this appearance."

Beautiful technical details

GEALAN-LINEAR® not only leads the way when it comes to design, but is advanced in every technical detail. Plochaet: "Technically, LINEAR delivers excellent tightness, thermal insulation and sound and burglary protection. Three circumferential sealing levels and stop seals at the frame and sashes ensure top performance. New is the design of the middle sealing level. This is the third sealing level and forms a high-quality middle sealing system based on the low installation depth of 74 mm."

Despite all the new technology, the system still remains easy to process, exactly as people have come to expect from GEALAN. "You can fit LINEAR seamlessly into the production process," explains Plochaet. "The design, performance and ease of processing, combined with the system width make GEALAN-LINEAR® unique."

Sustainable concept

The GEALAN-LINEAR® system is based on a closed material cycle. From now on, the NL S9000NL base also contains this closed material cycle. The NL window frame has a base of recycled raw material. Every meter of Dutch window frame now contributes to a better world. "This is done by using fully recyclable materials. In addition, the new profile system also commits to using material concepts for plastic window frames that have proven themselves over many years. The targeted use of recycled materials saves resources and reduces the burden on the environment, while preserving the high-quality material properties of the profiles."

The sliding window of the future: SMOOVIO

The SMOOVIO sash window developed by GEALAN has begun to create a furor since its introduction. No wonder, because SMOOVIO is the alternative to the draughty, cold sash windows of yesteryear. Plochaet is clear: "SMOOVIO offers exactly the same functionality but with today's living comfort. The sliding window has optimum wind and water tightness with a Uw value of 0.94 W/m2K. Due to the profiling, there are no rails on the outside, so there is also no nuisance from dirt in the rail."

The sliding sash is lightly operated by means of the special sliding hardware. "Existing curtains can simply remain in place, as the sliding element comes in only 8 mm," continues Plochaet. "Wind and water tightness are guaranteed by the hardware, as it closes completely in the double seals of the rubber. There are locking plates around the frame and the sash also closes on the center post."

Saying goodbye to terrible facade images through renovation

In conclusion, Plochaet tells us about the GEALAN S9000NL Reno concept, which puts an end to renovating facades with thick frames and a lot of sealant seams and dirt streaks. "When renovating, you want a well-insulated frame that looks good and is also more attractively mounted. That's what Reno is specifically designed for. The depth of the S9000NL reno window frame extends beyond the inside of the wooden frame. At the rear, there is a special inclusion for a finishing profile. Since there is no disassembly of the existing frame, finishing with a finishing profile to the existing wall on the inside is sufficient."

The advantages at a glance: the existing window frame remains in place, there is no need to remediate asbestos, rapid dismantling, assembly and finishing of the house (the aim is within one day), little inconvenience to residents, a highly insulating window frame through the detailing of the profile and also a slim window frame in comparison with the solutions commonly used to date, and through the use of a single frame: no streaks, contamination and dirty sealant joints.
