As part of the selected construction team, Van den Pol Elektrotechniek is responsible for all E-facilities in Grizzly, "In doing so, we link up with Pivot Park's 10 kV installation," reports project manager Roelf van Wolfswinkel. "Our package also includes the LED lighting and PV installation plus a number of installations from the Security & ICT business unit: fire alarm, access control and data supply." This is done with trusted partners. "Both Klimaatservice Holland and Dura Vermeer are excellent parties with a lot of expertise with whom Van den Pol regularly cooperates. We know what we have in common; that benefits both progress and quality."
In consultation with the consultants, the design for the installations was drawn up. "The complexity makes the use of BIM a crucial precondition. You can't really do without it in this project," says Van Wolfswinkel. Points of focus included specific provisions for the pharmaceutical and biomedical companies that are settling in Grizzly. "In addition to our cabling, the pipes for gases and liquids plus the air ducts must also be given a place in the ceilings. That required careful coordination with Klimaatservice Holland and Vinitex, the company that supplies the columns with all the facilities in the laboratories."
Freezers in the basement area allow tenants to store materials under proper conditions. An emergency generator ensures that the refrigeration system continues to operate even in the event of a power failure.
When integrating the lighting into the home automation system, the DALI protocol is used. "Initially, the intention was to use KNX for this. However, we recommended choosing DALI entirely. If lighting and sensors communicate via different systems, this always results in some delay. Application of only DALI improves ease of use and leads to a more robust system. Looking to the future, this is the right choice, hence our advice."
