Leading the way in digital measurement solutions

BDM, or Brandsma Digitaal Meten, is a leading agency specializing in surveying and land surveying. Since 2007, BDM has been providing reliable measurement solutions for a variety of industries in the Netherlands. With a team of over 30 professionals, it performs measurement work on a daily basis, combining smart technologies with a goal-oriented approach. The recently completed Cambuur Stadium is a striking example of this. This job was carried out by BDM on behalf of Van Wijnen Noord.

As a construction partner, BDM played a crucial role in the realization of the new Cambuur Stadium in Leeuwarden. In close cooperation with Van Wijnen, they performed various dimensional work to ensure that the construction of this modern sports complex proceeded as efficiently as possible and exactly according to plan. Van Wijnen superintendent Justin Boomsma describes BDM's role as follows: "We are enormously pleased with Brandsma's expertise, dimensional engineer Jeen and his team have absolutely been of added value at all stages of this extensive project!" 

Good sizing as a basis

Construction today begins with accurate dimensioning. For example, BDM began preparations for the construction of the new stadium in Leeuwarden as early as February 2022. Before the start of building preparation, the area was flown in with a drone, after which the measurement results were developed into a height map of the site. In July 2022, the piling work was set out by BDM, after the work area was first fully digitally mapped. On the basis of the data obtained, the builders placed the foundations exactly in position, again under the supervision of BDM. In early 2023, the project literally went up. From a composite 3D model, BDM was able to measure directly. Grandstands, seats for 15,000 fans, canopies and lighting columns: they would not be there without the dimensional work of BDM's specialists. 

In addition to measuring and modeling, BDM provided active advice throughout the construction process based on its expertise. By providing practical solutions and insightful data, she ensured that all parties could fully concentrate on the execution of the construction work.
