Innovative scaffolding system for The Beatrix

PERI plays an important role in the transformation of The Beatrix with the innovative PERI UP Flex scaffolding system. This project was carried out by Mundo Steigers, a scaffolding contractor specializing in the (de)assembly of scaffolding and complex scaffolding construction projects, and demonstrates the advantages of this modular system, said PERI sales engineer Leo Klop.

For the demolition of the canopy and entrance on the J.C. van Markenlaan, an impressive 35 meter high end wall scaffold was installed. Here 1,600 m² of PERI UP Flex system was used. For the roof scaffold, which was required for the building's elevation, PERI later supplied another 170 m¹ of scaffolding.

Innovation and efficiency 

PERI UP Flex is a modular scaffolding system that offers time and cost savings. The system uses self-locking components, also known as gravity locks, making erection faster and safer. The steel beams, grids and edge boards are designed with rectangular profiles for added strength. The system also features the "strongest junction in the market. In addition, it can be combined with the PERI VARIOKIT system, which enables special constructions and large spans.

Safety and logistical advantages

The modular design, based on a 25-centimeter grid, is applied consistently through all parts of the system. This provides an enclosed floor surface without tripping hazards, increasing safety on the shop floor. The self-closing edge boards require no additional couplings, which further speeds construction. In addition, the system offers significant logistical advantages. With fewer different parts and lower weight compared to other ring systems, transportation and storage are more efficient. There are no rolling elements, which reduces transport volume and contributes to the overall efficiency of the project.

PERI provided on-site start-up supervision for Mundo Scaffolding in addition to the design and delivery of materials. "Thanks to the employees' experience and PERI's guidance, the assembly went quickly and smoothly," says Klop. "The deployment of the PERI UP Flex scaffolding system at The Beatrix demonstrates the power of innovation in scaffolding construction. With increased safety, strong material, efficient erection and logistical advantages, PERI UP Flex proves to be a valuable solution for large-scale construction projects.
