Platform on new construction, renovation, restoration and transformation
For the project Living in Gold WEBO engineers, manufactures, and assembles the wood frame construction elements (HSB). The project comprises 250 homes spread across four buildings. The tallest tower reaches 68 meters, making it the tallest residential building in Gouda—a striking part of the city's area development.
The inner-city location, directly at Gouda's busiest intersection, requires maximum efficiency in construction logistics and assembly. WEBO is supplying 793 HSB elements, with a total surface area of 9,368 m².2. The elements are already fitted with adjustment frames at the factory and more than meet the BENG requirements with RC values of 4.7m.2·K/W and 6.7 m2·K/W. Thanks to the large production capacity and just-in-time delivery, the construction schedule remains tight and predictable, despite the limited space at the site.
The HSB elements are fully developed in BIM, which digitally coordinates material flows, production, and assembly. Because WEBO connects the HSB elements to each other, two HSB walls can be assembled in a single lifting movement. This reduces the number of lifting moments, shortens the lead time, and limits the assembly time on the construction site. The assembly of the HSB elements runs parallel to the concrete shells, making the construction process faster and more efficient.
The tallest tower in Railway zone in Gouda will have 21 floors and reach a height of 68 meters, making it the tallest residential building in Gouda. It will contain three types of owner-occupied apartments with living areas ranging from 72 to 132 m², supplemented by exclusive penthouses of approximately 155 m² on the top floors. Each apartment will have its own outdoor space in the form of a balcony or loggia.
Tower LOW consists entirely of rental properties and is connected to Tower HIGH via the central courtyard garden. This green space forms the heart of the plan and provides a meeting place and cohesion between the various residential buildings.
The homes that directly border the courtyard garden have their own garden, which contributes to a pleasant, livable environment in the densely built-up Spoorzone.
