Anyone driving into Urk cannot fail to notice the new office building of Hartman Marine Shipbuilding BV. Near the harbor, a striking building with a special appearance was completed just before summer, perfectly blending into its surroundings in size and scale. The new building was designed by Korfker Architects. Ship paneling and construction company De Flux was responsible for its execution. Commissioned by the Urk-based contractor, specialist in OP-deck® formwork systems, steel sheet-concrete floors and metal roof and facade systems Tullingh & Partners provided the building shell, including storey floors, roof and facade.

"From our office in Dordrecht, we provide construction engineering, material supply and realization of construction-related projects in residential, commercial and industrial construction," explains Charles van Oldenbarneveld of Tullingh & Partners. "Moreover, we are happy to take on the complete construction management, directing the various parties, checking drawings and monitoring schedules and budgets. In other words, in cooperation with our construction partners, we ensure that each project is brought to a success. Hartman Marine Shipbuilding BV's new office building is a striking example of this. In close cooperation with our construction partner De Flux and with the aesthetic design of Korfker Architects as a foundation, we determined the best fitting products, suppliers ánd construction partners for this project."
For the new building in Urk, all the facade cassettes are done in a bronze tone.
For example, high (insulation) requirements were imposed on the second floor, says Van Oldenbarneveld. "Because the new building is a 'building on legs,' extra stringent building physics and fire resistance requirements applied to this floor. That is why the floor was implemented with the OP-deck® system, which has a standard fire resistance of 90 minutes and an RC value of 6. The second floor is a steel slab-concrete floor." On the roof, Kingspan X-dek sandwich panels are used, which meet an RC value of 6 and are distinguished by low dead weight and high strength. "The sandwich panels can handle heavier loads without any problems. A godsend because Hartman Marine Shipbuilding BV has installed PV panels on the roof."
Aluminum Kingspan Dri-Design Tapered facade cassettes give the new building a high-quality and exclusive look. "The metal and 100% circular (Cradle-to-Cradle) facade cassettes were mounted on an insulated Kingspan facade panel and tested as a system combination for insulation value, air tightness, water tightness and fire resistance. This has also been certified," Van Oldenbarneveld says. "The facade cassettes can be rotated in any direction, whereby depths and slopes can be varied. In addition, a wide variety of finishes, colors and textures is possible. This results in unlimited design possibilities as well as unique, dynamic facades. This makes Kingspan Dri-Design Tapered the excellent choice for Hartman Marine Shipbuilding BV, which also works exclusively with high-quality and durable materials when building its luxury (super)yachts and ships."

For the new building in Urk, all the facade cassettes are finished in a bronze tone. "In the engineering phase, we decided to make one side of the metal cassettes slightly deeper. The reflection of sunlight creates a very special effect, like a natural wave movement that refers to the water surface of the IJsselmeer, which is always in motion."
