Why repair damage afterwards when you can prevent it in advance? With that philosophy, Spray Foil BV offers a pioneering solution to protect vulnerable building materials already during the construction process. This innovative product makes construction more efficient and prevents costly repairs. "With our solution, we are changing the way protection is seen in construction," said co-owner Francois Sinke.
Spray film® is a liquid product that is easily applied to delicate materials such as concrete, glass, plastic and aluminum using airless paint spray equipment. "It dries in 24 hours as a semi-transparent fleece that prevents dirt, scratches and damage during the construction process," explains operations director Harry van Ginkel. "It protects against contamination from paint and cement splashes, for example, and thus prevents time-consuming and expensive repair work."
Spray Foil BV evolved from Nicsin Breukelen BV, a family business that has been in the concrete repair business for more than 30 years. "Our years of experience in repairing construction damage gave us a unique insight into the problems that arise during construction projects," Sinke explains. "And that got us thinking: instead of just repairing, we can prevent this damage."
What sets Spray Foil® apart from traditional protection methods is its combination of durability, efficiency and reliability. "Our product is made from recycled materials and can last for 12 months without losing its protective properties," Sinke said. In addition, it is easy to apply and remove, which means it does not slow down the construction process. "We have noticed that contractors are becoming increasingly enthusiastic, as the product simplifies their work and ensures fewer repairs afterwards."
A good example of the application of Spray Foil® is the CityPromenade project in Nieuwegein, where four residential buildings with a total of 452 apartments are being built. Van Ginkel explains, "We started protecting Block A there at the end of March. The special thing about this project is that, thanks to Spray Foil®, we were able to work from top to bottom in one go using a lifting scaffold. That way we were finished in no time."
According to Sinke, the contractor, Koopmans Bouw, was initially skeptical, but changed its mind when it saw how effective the product was: "'See first, then believe,' we heard. But now she too is convinced of the power of Spray Foil®."
With the impressive results of projects such as CityPromenade, Spray Foil® is fast becoming the new standard in construction protection. Sinke looks optimistically to the future: "We believe that Spray Foil® will not only make construction safer and cleaner, but also more sustainable. The best thing would be if our product is already applied to precast concrete elements in the factory, so that they reach the construction site protected." Van Ginkel adds: "We are convinced that this is the future. We are taking an important step toward a waste-free, efficient construction industry."
