Combined intercom systems for Binck City Park 

In the Binckhorst district of The Hague, a special project is emerging with four residential towers and 896 energy-efficient apartments for students, starters and those moving up: Binck City Park. The large-scale new construction project was designed by OZ architects, VMX architects and Braaksma & Roos architects and has a great diversity in height and finish. A layered structure and central green roof park provide unity, connection and tranquility. Commissioned by installer Elektroservice Holland BV, Vercoma Communication Systems is supplying the intercom systems for blocks 2 and 3, which will house a total of 494 apartments for property developer Rockfield Real Estate and student housing company DUWO.

Block 2 is a 55-meter-high residential building with a total of 198 apartments. For this building, Vercoma Communication Systems is supplying a full-IP door video system. "Chosen was the iPlusBUS system from Beoview," says Account Manager Andy Menheere. "This future-proof door communication system can not only bridge large distances, but also has unlimited connection capacity." iPlusBUS offers all the advantages of full-IP door communication technology, but in combination with the familiar traditional simple bus infrastructure, he says. "Other IP systems on the market are often star-wired, making installation complex and expensive. iPlusBUS changes this. With this system, installers are assured of maximum ease of installation as well as easy remote management."

User-friendly touchscreen monitor 

"In each apartment there will be a BEOVIEW7 Lite-S 7^“ door video monitor; a user-friendly touchscreen monitor with an intuitive graphical user interface and various options such as an image memory," Menheere says. "This allows one to always look back to see who was at the door. Downstairs at the entrance, a V-Touch mini voice-listening panel with touchscreen will also be installed."

Combination of full-IP and bus technology

Block 3 will be 55 meters high and will soon accommodate 296 housing units and common areas on the first floor. "This building will be realized as a mixed residential building for starters in the middle rental segment and students," Menheere knows. "Because starters have different needs than students, a separate intercom system will be installed for both target groups." On the first through seventh floors will be student housing, he says. "For these floors, we supply our vandal-resistant hands-free ART 1/GTwin devices, which establish an audio connection only. The apartments on the eighth through seventeenth floors, on the other hand, like Block 2, will be equipped with Beoview's iPlusBUS system, including a BEOVIEW7 Lite-S 7^“ door video monitor. Downstairs at the main entrance, V-Touch mini voice-listening panels will be installed for both the starter and student residences, with the entry-level housing outpost also equipped with a camera. As a result, functionality, vandal resistance and a uniform appearance come together nicely."

Plug-and-play connected 

At Vercoma's assembly department in Wormerveer, all system components for Binck City Park are carefully engineered, configured, assembled and programmed, says Menheere. "All systems are also supplied with clear connection diagrams and manuals, making them easy to connect and plug-and-play. This relieves the installer in every possible way."
