Large-scale renovation brings new energy to Helbergen

Renovating a residential neighborhood is more than just refurbishing buildings; it is an opportunity to raise the entire living environment to a higher level. In the Helbergen neighborhood in Zutphen, thanks to the efforts of Rensink Totaalonderhoud, exactly that is happening. The experts of this renowned family business are pulling out all the stops to breathe new life into more than 500 apartments. "We want the world to be a little more beautiful when we leave," says Gerdy Pusceddu, director of Rensink.

Rensink Total Maintenance has been a fixture in the Deventer area for nearly 100 years. The company began as a painting company and grew into a multidisciplinary total maintenance company. "We are still a real family business, with the standards and values that go with it," Pusceddu proudly explains. "Many of our employees come in as apprentices and stay with us until retirement. That is exactly how we continue to thrive as a team: by growing together." This close cooperation and long-term relationships with clients, including Nijhuis Bouw and housing corporation Woonbedrijf ieder1, form the basis for successful projects, such as the renovation in Helbergen.

Large-scale renovation with impact

The renovation of more than 500 apartments in Helbergen is a typical project for Rensink. "Among other things, we provide the exterior and interior painting, wood renovation, install HR++ insulating glazing and replace the draught barriers," says project manager André Warnhuis. "Thanks to our close cooperation with established partners, we were able to work smoothly and efficiently." The project not only gave the homes a new look, but also provided greater comfort and energy efficiency.

An important aspect of this renovation was caring for the residents. "They are as important to us as the building itself," says Pusceddu. "We take their wishes into account and ensure as little inconvenience as possible. It is nice to hear afterwards that they are satisfied with the result. That's ultimately what we do it for." Currently, the very last finishing touches are being added, a typical feature of Rensink's working method. "We don't leave until everything is done to perfection and everyone is satisfied."

A method of working for the long term

Rensink remains progressive not only in the projects it undertakes, but also in how it works. "We continue to develop our team and innovate in our work processes so that we can work sustainably and efficiently with our fine team for a long time to come," Pusceddu explains. "We may be 94 years old, but we are still young at heart."
