"We value a personal, flexible and professional way of working, where everything starts with what the customer's requirements are," states director José Zaman. "No concessions are made on quality and partners are selected according to their high standards in terms of quality, testing and inspection audits." It is with good reason, then, that in addition to its role as a consultant, the Eindhoven-based company is also a distributor of a number of high-quality Smart Glass products and solutions that connect to an energy-efficient or safe solution.
The range includes Smart Glass products, such as privacy glass and LED media glass, as well as solar control solutions including the self-tinting, dynamic thermochromic glass. This was used last year in the roof of the Royal Theater Carré (Amsterdam), replacing the existing roof glazing to reduce solar heat penetration. "Vacuum insulation glass is another new product that combines safety and thermal comfort. This glass has a U-value of 0.45 W/m2K and, with a glass thickness of 8.3 mm, is ideal for making listed buildings energy efficient," Zaman adds. "In homes to be delivered gas-free, in turn, people are increasingly opting for the electrically heated glass Heat Vision in combination with underfloor heating."
Thomsa Glass is building a nice list of references. For example, they were recently involved in the new TNO office in Leiden, the glass bicycle shed at RAI station, Eastman's headquarters in Rotterdam and at Merchant Square in London, where Media glass was applied. "The glazing is one thing, but when developing a product we also consider the profiles used, the assembly and even the logistics," Zaman emphasizes. "Moreover, we only work with a network of selected partners, from which we choose the appropriate ones for each project. As a result, we also suffer less from longer delivery times because we always have alternative solutions."
