'Washing hands by corona has increased, so has our water consumption'

So we now wash our hands much more often and we know better how to clean them thoroughly and correctly: using soap and water whenever possible and drying hands thoroughly afterwards with a disposable paper towel. Delabie contributes to extra hygiene while reducing water consumption.

Self-closing faucets

With self-closing mechanical or electronic sink faucets, we optimize hygiene, as there is no manual contact with the faucet after rinsing our hands. Thus, any bacteria or viruses present on the handles are not re-transmitted to the hands. Moreover, by replacing the perlator with a hygienic jet breaker, residual water and dirt are reduced, which also prevents development of scale and bacteria at the outlet of the faucet. Electronic faucets have an automatic antibacterial periodic flush as an added benefit. This flush activates when the faucet is not used for 24 hours and prevents stagnation of water in the faucet and piping: an important factor in the fight against bacterial growth.

Just turn off the tap

So now we wash our hands longer and more often. But how often do we leave the faucet open? Traditional sink faucets have a consumption of 9 liters per minute. If washing hands takes 32 seconds, including wetting, soaping and rinsing, and the faucet runs, the total consumption is 4.8 liters per use. We normally wash our hands 4 or 5 times a day, but as we now pay more attention to hand hygiene, this has increased to at least 12 times a day. The impact on consumption is significant ... rising from 24 liters to 57.6 liters per person per day.

DELABIE's electronic soap dispenser is reliable, durable and easy to operate.

For ecological reasons, we need to limit this increased water consumption. Compared to a traditional sink faucet, water conservation is optimized with Delabie's self-closing mechanical or electronic faucets. The faucet closes automatically after 7 seconds (mechanical models) or after removing the hands from the detection zone (sensor-controlled models) and has a limited flow rate of 3 liters per minute at 3 bar. So the user can wet their hands, apply the soap and rinse off without the faucet running continuously. With a Delabie electronic faucet, water consumption drops to 0.6 liters per use, a decrease of nearly 90%.

Washing, washing, washing

Can faucets and soap dispensers handle the increase in frequency of use? Unmodified traditional faucets have parts that wear out more easily, resulting in leaks, wasted water and more frequent repairs. Delabie's faucets and soap dispensers, on the other hand, are made of durable materials such as solid brass, with mechanisms that can withstand more than 500,000 operations. The fasteners are also reinforced to prevent them from loosening over time. Choosing models with standardized replacement parts, such as inserts, that are easily accessible and easy to change, greatly simplifies this maintenance.

Also operate the soap dispenser touch-free

For effective hand hygiene, the soap dispenser must also be reliable and easy to operate. An electronic soap dispenser is thus the ideal, hands-free solution for maximum hygiene. Delabie's battery-operated dispenser works with either soap or gel and delivers an optimal dose (0.8 ml) with each activation, which can be limited to a maximum of 7 doses per use if the user gets a little too enthusiastic. In addition, Delabie soap dispensers are easy to refill thanks to a wide opening.
