At the Construction Show, AGC Glass Europe presented two innovative glass solutions where the possibilities are more extensive than many people would think. The Pyrobel Vision Line is an old friend, but the fire-resistant version of the vacuum glass FINEO was just launched this year. A beautiful aesthetic combined with great energy performance and safety.
Those who want a partition wall within a building quickly run into the fact that it is interrupted by profiles. This is different with the Pyrobel Vision Line. Here, several fire-resistant glass panels are connected with a transparent silicone joint of 4 to 5 mm. The interior receives a beautifully clear appearance, while the glass is fireproof on both sides, impact resistant and noise dampened. It is also possible to create an angle from 90° to 180°.
"You can create fire-safe corridors and compartments with it, even though you can't see that it's fire-resistant glass," says Jan Liebeton, product manager at AGC. The glass is widely used within office buildings, schools and healthcare facilities. "Basically anywhere where people are looking for a high-quality transparent and fire-resistant solution. The glass is available up to 3 meters high and can therefore be placed from floor to ceiling. You can make small walls with it, but also walls of unlimited length."
Anyone looking for insulating, thin glass that is also fire resistant will find Pyrobel FINEO. This glass is available from 26 mm thick and is therefore mainly used when renovating existing window frames. FINEO also looks like normal single glass, but contains special properties, says Liebeton. "The glass easily achieves a U-value of 0.7, and better values are on the horizon. AGC developed FINEO itself and is the only company capable of producing it. Especially for older buildings where the appearance must be preserved, this glass is suitable. You don't have to modify the frame and yet you can upgrade the building to Energy Class A."
