Venture Group's headquarters on the Schering in Genemuiden has been given a new, modern look. The metamorphosis was part of a radical revitalization, with the aim of making the 30-year-old building more comfortable, energy-efficient and future-proof. While retaining the existing shell. The Knauf Skin exterior wall insulation system including SM 300 and SD 180 cement plasters made an important contribution to this.
"Client, architect and contractor were looking for an attractive solution for the facade that would simultaneously improve thermal insulation, soundproofing and airtightness," says Roald Blok, Market Manager Facade at Knauf. "Application company Boeve Afbouw recommended our Knauf Skin exterior wall insulation system for this, which combines aesthetic and energy performance with comprehensive project advice." An important part of this is the installation advice, which explains the function and correct technical processing for each product, said Reynoudt Koning, Market Manager Stuc at Knauf. "Boeve Afbouw worked entirely in accordance with this installation advice, which resulted in a ten-year insured warranty upon completion."
Knauf Skin is the perfect solution for improving and preserving existing buildings. "The exterior façade insulation system can be constructed and finished in numerous ways, depending on the desired appearance and insulation performance," says Sander Vos, Project Advisor for Façade Technology at Knauf. "In this project we recommended a 140 mm thick Knauf Airpop EPS insulation board with an Rd value of 4.375 m2.K/W, combined with Knauf SM 300 and Knauf SD 180 cement plasters. Knauf Conni S textured plaster was chosen for the facade finish. Because this product is water-repellent and self-cleaning, Venture Group can enjoy its new facade for as long as possible. Moreover, thanks to our system solution, it benefits from higher comfort as well as lower energy bills and fully complies with the Energy Label C requirement."
Two cement plasters from Knauf's range were used in the preservation of the headquarters, both to bond the EPS insulation board and to create the mortar-fiber layer that serves as the basis for the final finish. "Our total cement plaster range has no less than sixteen products, which are suitable for both insulated and uninsulated exterior walls," says King. "In addition, they are excellent for wet areas such as bathrooms, toilets and saunas. This also makes us the partner of choice for professional plastering. When you say cement plaster, you say Knauf."
