Platform on new construction, renovation, restoration and transformation
Jorritsma Bouw and Sijperda Verhuur will join forces with an innovative partnership: as of February 1, 2020, the entire equipment fleet of Jorritsma Bouw will be owned by the Sneek-based rental company.
Jorritsma Bouw and Sijperda Verhuur have been working together satisfactorily for years. In this cooperation we are now reaching a major milestone, which is an unprecedented step for the building industry in the Netherlands. The two companies are the first to join forces in this way. Outsourcing gives Jorritsma Bouw synergy benefits and the opportunity to focus on their core business: 100% build. The agreement was entered into for a period of five years with the possibility of continuing thereafter.
New knowledge
Jorritsma Bouw and Sijperda Verhuur are convinced that this collaboration delivers great value creation. In the preliminary phase, Sijperda Verhuur is already involved in thinking about the layout of the construction site and the equipment required. The system used for this purpose provides insight into the equipment available on the construction site for each project. This system contains all the information needed to work more (cost) efficiently. Another major advantage is that Sijperda Verhuur has 12 branches in the northern half of the Netherlands; the range is extensive and equipment is available more quickly. Because of the size of Sijperda Verhuur, there is more flexibility, more knowledge, always good quality and excellent products to work with.
CO2 efficiency of transportation
Because of Sijperda's regionally oriented coverage in the northern Netherlands, the distances to Jorritsma Bouw's construction sites are shorter. This makes transport movements more efficient and thus reduces CO2 emissions. We are thus making another step towards a more sustainable construction process.
Good agreements with employees Jorritsma Bouw
The Works Council and management agreed by mutual consent to second employees or look for a suitable solution. We then met with everyone individually. Some of the colleagues will be seconded to Sijperda and some have made the choice to stay. They have been given a suitable position within the company.
