For 55 years, Schipper Kozijnen has been committed to sustainable home comfort. What began in 1969 with the installation and later maintenance of aluminum front windows, has grown into one of the largest window frame specialists in the Netherlands. The North Holland family business proudly celebrates this milestone and has ambitious growth plans for the future.
The history of Schipper Kozijnen begins with a progressive vision of founder Hil Schipper. He saw the sustainable potential of products such as aluminum front windows. "Sustainability was central from the beginning. It was not just a product, but a promise for the future," says general manager Jurian Tabbers.
In the following decades, the company experienced tremendous growth. New showrooms throughout the country, doubling upon doubling of sales and most recently the construction of its own distribution center and new headquarters in Opmeer. But the journey was not without its challenges. Think of the oil crisis in the 1970s, the credit crunch and most recently the corona crisis. "Precisely at such times we proved the strength of our family business. Cooperation, trust and perseverance have brought us to where we are today," Tabbers said.
Schipper Kozijnen is a leading player in the facade industry by 2024 and is fully committed to renovating and maintaining homes in the Netherlands. "The Netherlands is facing major challenges. We must not only improve living comfort, but also drastically reduce energy consumption. Plastic is lead-free, 100% recyclable and low maintenance, which puts us in an excellent position to lead the way in this sustainability challenge," Tabbers says.
The company has a unique approach that seamlessly connects consumer and business projects. Tabbers explains: "We start every project from the end-user's perspective. Whether it's a single home or a project of 2,000 homes. For the consumer, that means genuine attention and customization. Large corporate projects benefit from this precise, customer-centric approach. We ensure that neighborhoods remain livable. For us it's all about the people, about their home."
The ambition toward 2030 is clear and resolute. It has long since ceased to be just about making and installing aluminum and plastic window frames. The company is focusing on replacing entire facades, opening new showrooms and strengthening collaborations with partners whereby the limit of € 100 million turnover per year will be broken through. And it will do so responsibly: with an eye for aesthetics as well as a sustainable approach, such as the reuse of raw materials and 100% circular plastic window frames.
Schipper Kozijnen is celebrating its 55th anniversary with various activities. For example, private customers will receive up to €1,000 discount on new window frames, doors or sliding doors for 55 days. On the weekend of May 16, 2025, the company will open its factory, headquarters and distribution center doors to customers, associates, local residents, employees and their families. In addition, the main sponsorship of the famous running race Kerstcross Opmeer will be expanded to include the 'Schipper Kozijnen Wandeltocht'.
Since its establishment in 1969, Schipper Kozijnen has grown into a leading player in the Dutch facade industry. With 250 employees and showrooms throughout the Netherlands (Opmeer, Amstelveen, Gouda, Zwolle, Groningen, Leeuwarden and Katwijk), the home base is in Opmeer, where its own factory is also located.
Schipper Kozijnen offers a total package in the field of plastic and aluminum facade solutions, from window frames and sliding doors to dormers. Through in-house production, assembly and maintenance & repair, Schipper Kozijnen guarantees the highest quality in every project.
