Aluminum profile systems for iconic Bunker Tower

Hueck Aluminum Systems offers high-quality and market-oriented solutions in the field of aluminum windows, doors and (curtain) facades, as well as aluminum profiles for industrial and project applications. The originally German family business has everything under its own control: from casting the press blocks and correcting the dies to extruding, painting and/or anodizing the profiles. Years of knowledge and expertise (since 1814) have led to an extensive and loyal customer base and an impressive project portfolio, to which the Bunker Tower was recently added.

Element facades

"In close cooperation with De Groot & Visser B.V., we provided the engineering of all element facades of the BunkerTower, taking into account, among other things, the aesthetic wishes of the architect, the static requirements and a sophisticated wind and water tightness," said Rob van der Sloot, Commercial Director at Hueck Benelux. "At the basis of the element facades are the HUECK Trigon Unit L profiles, which are distinguished by easy processing, optimized profile geometry and excellent thermal insulation." The BunkerTower is the first project realized by Hueck Aluminium Systems together with De Groot & Visser B.V.. "However, Director of Operations Harm Spronk was already familiar with our systems. He was also very enthusiastic about the method of construction of our element facades, the fruits of which are also being reaped in this project. Thanks to the element facades it is possible to build fast and without scaffolding. Moreover, the element facades were produced under the best climatic and labor conditions."

Tilt-and-slide windows and lift-and-slide doors

"Initially, we put together a mock-up for the element façade, which was tested at De Groot & Visser B.V. for wind and water tightness," Van der Sloot explains. "The profiles were then delivered in standard and fixed lengths so that the facade builder could process the material as optimally as possible." Following the Trigon Unit L profiles, WS 75 tilt-up windows and Volato M+ lift-and-slide doors from Hueck Aluminium Systems are also used in the Bunker Tower. "With an insulation value of Uf = 1.6 W/m2K, our lift-slide doors are among the best insulating lift-slide doors available today. Moreover, the system can handle very large dimensions and glass weights (400 kg) and very slim views (52 mm) are possible."
