The construction of new housing project HomeTown in Leidsche Rijn started festively on Tuesday, December 3. Alderman Klaas Verschuure, responsible for the Leidsche Rijn portfolio, gave the official start signal for the construction together with the future residents. Together they raised a building sign with an illustration of HomeTown. TBI company ERA Contour is developing and building a total of 51 single-family homes and 9 apartments in HomeTown. HomeTown was designed by BRINK architecture and urbanism. Garden architect Haver Droeze is responsible for the design of the communal courtyard garden. The sale of the single-family homes is through Punt Makelaars..
Utrecht's alderman Verschuure is pleased with the arrival and construction of HomeTown: "Utrecht is one of the fastest growing cities in our country, because people want to live, work and stay here. I find it very cool that on this spot in Leidsche Rijn a new piece of Utrecht is being realized. Families will soon have all the peace, space and greenery they need to live here and it is also close to the bustling Leidsche Rijn Center and the old town of Utrecht. This gives the residential area an ideal location."
Jeroen Heijdra, director at ERA Contour is also enthusiastic about the development and realization of HomeTown in Leidsche Rijn: "It is fantastic that a new mixed neighborhood will soon be created at this beautiful and green spot in Leidsche Rijn. We have included the residential wishes of future residents in the housing project, making HomeTown truly a neighborhood with character."
In HomeTown, many different housing types come together. And each house has its own character, because there is a lot of diversity in the house layout and the type of facade. Special brickwork, use of color and carefully chosen bricks give the house a tough look. Art deco style ornaments on the facades and fencing also add a touch of playfulness. Each resident has a private garden, parking space and plenty of opportunities to organize the house according to their own wishes.
The homes in HomeTown are set up for a sustainable future: every home in HomeTown is naturally gasless and very energy efficient (approximately EPC -0.2). In addition, future residents will have a beautiful green space at their disposal. When you walk through the gates, you leave the urban hectic behind for a moment. You step from the urban exterior to the green and cozy inner area with plenty of play space for children.
ERA Contour expects to deliver the first homes in late 2020. The majority of the homes will follow in the first quarter of 2021. More information about HomeTown can be found at https://hometown-utrecht.nl/.
