Working together on total installation

'One point of contact for total installation on site'

The sister companies were awarded the contract from the tender by general contractor Vorm. Meanwhile, the shell of the project is already well underway, expected to be completed by summer. Elco Nederlof of Klimaatservice: "The pipes will be incorporated in the floors and walls. So we are already going up every floor during the structural work."

The project has different target groups. There will be student homes from DUWO, starter homes from Bouwinvest and starter homes from Rockfield. Elektroservice will provide the electrical installations such as the connections in the apartments and in the corridors, the bicycle charging points, the intercom system and the internet installation. Finally, a lightning protection system will be installed on the roof. Dirk de Kruijf of Elektroservice: "On the first floor there will be a management area, a laundry room for DUWO and Rockfield, and a commercial plinth. For the commercial spaces, it is not yet known which parties will be in it, so we cannot yet make installations for those."

Tight planning

Klimaatservice outsources part of the plumbing work to Dorst Installatietechniek. It will take care of the construction of the sewerage, rainwater drainage and hot/cold water installation and the installation of the plumbing. Nederlof: "Each apartment gets its own CO2-controlled ventilation system with heat recovery unit, which we connect to a collective air supply and exhaust duct. Once Eneco has installed the delivery set in each apartment, we connect our underfloor heating distributors to it."

Because the four blocks are being erected almost simultaneously, the project requires a great deal of logistical coordination and tight scheduling. Materials are delivered to construction just-in-time, after advance notice is given. The two enjoy working on a high-rise project. De Kruijf: "The height does make this a special project for us. The work itself is not that complex, but the size of the project and the speed make it special. In order to be able to switch faster, there is one supervisor on the construction site every day on behalf of Klimaatservice and Elektroservice. He is the point of contact on the building site and the link between work preparation and execution. This allows us to work on other projects as well. That is a great advantage of a combined project."
