Platform on new construction, renovation, restoration and transformation
To deliver Caravan Centrum Meerkerk on time, all parties had to speed up. That certainly applied to Buro Baars Infra & Advies and Baars Aannemerij BV, who were responsible for the infrastructure. Only after they had completed the building-related groundwork and sewerage could the other parties get to work.
"The work was prepared in a construction team," says André Baars, owner and consultant of Buro Baars Infra & Advies. "Here everyone thought along about the most efficient approach and this also happened in a pleasant, constructive atmosphere. Thanks to this joint approach, we were able to complete the entire site layout within six
weeks deliver."
Given the short time frame, Buro Baars set a fast pace from the very beginning. Even before the permits were in, preparations were already in full swing. "It was an important requirement that the rainwater be stored and infiltrated on our own property," Baars says of this phase. "This was a fairly new development for us that we really had to delve into. We designed a permeable pavement of special types of stone for this and a water-passable pavement for the caravan parking lot. A total of 80% of the site was paved with this permeable paving, fitted with a coarse-grained foundation with the
required carrying capacity."
The implementation of the infrastructure was realized by Baars Aannemerij BV, which closely followed the logistical planning in the process. "We do this as precisely as possible," explains contractor Rik Baars. "At the same time, we take a flexible approach. We really didn't need to have the 4,500 m2 site at our disposal constantly. Portions where we were not active could
others use."
After the building was completed, Baars Aannemerij returned for phase two, the site paving around the building. "That is characteristic of our work. We come first and go last. That also makes this work special. We make it a beautiful whole."
