The site of the former ZMC has created space for a new attractive residential neighborhood: Gouwpark. Today the zoning plan was sent to the council for decision-making. Alderman Songül Mutluer: "With this we have reached the next phase, a big step closer to building 250 new homes. A beautiful plan in a central location close to greenery and amenities. With various apartments and ground-level homes, we offer a wonderful opportunity to Zaankanters from young to old and for every wallet."
Together with developers HSB Development and Wilma Wonen, they worked on a diverse housing program, including the share of 30% social rentals and appropriate housing for people moving up in the housing market.
The neighborhood is centrally located and easily accessible, close to the A7 and the NS station Kogerveld. On the north side is the hospital with healthcare boulevard and the Albert Heijn XL on the Koningin Julianaweg. With the Gouw to the east and Burgemeester In 't Veldpark to the south, the neighborhood lies directly on ecological connecting zones. The desire is to create a lot of openness so that the greenery is also clearly visible in and from the neighborhood. The streets will be designed so that people have to drive at walking pace.
