To guarantee a pleasant indoor climate in both the residential towers and the commercial plinth of De Zalmhaven, heating, cooling and ventilation are being raised to the highest level. Commissioned by BAM Bouw en Techniek - Grote Projecten, STEBOMA is providing the complete ventilation systems.
"A high EPC requirement applies to De Zalmhaven I (highrise)," says Wibo van der Vaart, project manager at STEBOMA Beverwijk. "That's why we are installing the CERA system in this building. The 257 apartments will be equipped with compact and quiet CERA units, which control the fresh air needed in the living and bedrooms 24/7: demand-controlled and based on local CO2 measurements. The CERA units are linked to central CHW units with CERA control (2x 40,000 m³/h) on the 61st floor, providing efficient heat recovery."
In De Zalmhaven II and III (midrise), individual Zehnder ComfoAir Q WTW units were chosen, distinguished by very high heat recovery efficiency and very low energy consumption. A combination of air handling units, air ducts and ceiling diffusers will be installed in the connecting, commercial plinth.
"Biggest challenge in assembling all the ventilation systems is the logistics," Van der Vaart said. "The construction site is limited and the construction pace is high. For example, the highrise is built at a rate of one floor per week, including exterior facade, walls, floors and installation technology. This requires not only close coordination with all construction partners, but also careful preparation." In STEBOMA's own prefabrication line in Schagen, therefore, all the necessary pour-in ducts are prefabricated from BIM, packed per construction section and delivered just-in-time to the construction site, where they can be assembled immediately and quickly.
